A.J. Johnson Reyes is a Senior Staff Attorney with Beyond Legal Aid. His position is specially funded to collaborate with Enlace Chicago through their Legal Clinic. He holds a law license in Washington State and his practice is limited to immigration law.

A.J. grew up in Carson, California, in the harbor area of Los Angeles. He attended Grinnell College in Iowa through the Posse Scholarship and earned a bachelor’s degree in political science with a concentration in Latin American studies. Prior to joining Beyond and Enlace, A.J. worked for a decade at the Northwest Immigration Rights Project (NWIRP) in Seattle, Washington. He earned his law license through the Washington State Bar Association's Rule 6 Law Clerk Program, an alternative-to-law-school apprenticeship, which he completed while employed at NWIRP.
